The collection

Rooted in the Cape's oldest colours, built for how we cook now.

Shaker has always been about honest construction. We keep its clean frame and quiet panel, then bring in what makes the Cape feel like home: colour that isn't shy, warm timber and a handmade finish you can feel.

Fluted oak end panels and open shelving sit beside the painted doors, so the kitchen reads as part furniture and part architecture. Every edge is eased by hand, and every door is painted in our workshop in thin, sanded coats.

Signature details

Made to
be touched

Three details you'll notice every day, each one made by hand in our own workshop.

01

Fluted oak panels

Milled from solid boards for island ends and tall-unit returns, adding rhythm, shadow and grain.

02

A heavier inset frame

A 70 mm frame with a tight, even gap that throws a crisp shadow line across every door.

03

Living brass

Unlacquered cup pulls and knobs that darken with use and take on the story of your kitchen.

Finishes

Choose your
house colour

Six studio colours, named for the spices and streets of the Cape. Tap a house to see it on a kitchen. Each one is tested against oak, and any custom match is free.

Now showing

Klapper

A coconut white, soft and warm. The quietest way to start.

Questions

Good
to know

How is this different from a classic shaker kitchen?

Same honest door, but with a heavier frame, fluted oak details and a palette designed to be bold. It's built to mix paint with natural timber. For a more traditional look, see the Kaparrang.

Can I mix colours, like the houses on the street?

Yes, and we encourage it. A Kaneel island with Klapper wall runs, or Borrie with Natural Oak, are favourites. We'll show you samples side by side.

What does a Bo-Kaap Shaker kitchen cost?

Every kitchen is made to measure, so price depends on size and layout. Send us your plans for a free ballpark estimate.

Do you supply worktops and appliances?

We source and fit worktops, and we plan the cabinetry around any appliances you choose.
